northerndragon: my seat. my hall. my home. my command. a ruin. (all my memories are poisoned)

Not the neural net. If they tell me right, then everyone in the world has those. This was something that we alone could do.

We had to glow to get the doors working. The gates.

The place we went to had to do with gods of this world, and there were signs to tell us what to do.

[So it seems like something that might interest her.]

Tasks we had to perform, and challenges. I don't think it will have to be done again, unless these gates fail somehow. I had to take a stack of stones of different sizes and part it in two and put the same weight on two sides of a kind of set of balances. I had to pass wolves with golden eyes that seemed to mean us harm.

They told us what to do, at those times and when the blue glow was wanted. Pictures of people holding hands.
northerndragon: they can only afford the bottom half of the icon (the north's resources are poor)

The pictures told us what to do, but there were some things only we could see. After the first place we came to, we opened a passage into a valley. The men who guided us couldn't see the valley. And then, there was -- something, at the end. We saw something. People from many places, crossing a great bridge. I don't think that was real.

[He's hesitant to use the word "vision," but there's nothing better to call it.]

[The next response doesn't come as quickly as all the others do. If she guesses that he's taken the time to think something over, she's correct. But maybe it's just that he was busy, for a time.]

If you want to see it, I'll take you. It's a matter of a few hours. If we leave early, we'll be back before it's dark.

But the air there is thin. Be ready for that. And it's much colder there than it is here.
